WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED A " TRAIN THE TRAINER " PROGRAM
Besides managing the orphanage and so many other things, we were also able to host a joint project with Rotary International.
From January 24-Feb 2, we were able to host an international collaboration of Rotary clubs from Armadale (Perth, Australia), Kunthi (Semarang City, Indonesia), Belait (Brunei), E-Club3310 (Singapore - where I was the former president of the club) and Victoria (Singapore), at Roslin Orphanage. Even though they were not a part of the committee, the Rotary Club of Kupang also contributed to the gathering (thank you Pak Frans for your help with the materials).

The clubs had come together to conduct a “Train the Trainer” program, meant to teach those who already know basic English to be able to use their skills to teach English to others. Our thanks to all of the clubs for their participation and also to Rotary International HQ for granting this Matching Grant's project. It was an honor for Roslin Orphanage to provide the venue and support for conducting the course.
Mrs Magaret Heather came all the way from Perth, Australia and did a fantastic job of organizing and running three classes daily ( 10 - 12 , 2 - 5 pm and 20 00 - 22 00 pm) . Margaret also teaching twice at SMA 4 (the local high school near venue of the training) The morning classes had a large participation of English schoolteachers. Most of those who attended the program were teachers, public servants, and the Kupang Rotary Club, led by President Theodorus Widodo and President-elect Freddy Tamara. Our thanks to Mr Titu Eki (the region's head of Kabupaten Kupang) for bringing together the schools and universities for this project. We would also like to thank Mr Niki Uly for allowing his staff to participate, which in turn will improve their services to the public.

Since some of the teachers lived too far from the venue, Peggy sponsored 3 rooms at the Christati Hotel for them to stay. We were able to modify our dining room to become a fully functional classroom, complete with air conditioning, projector & screen, and a white board. We are thankful with how well things went, and know that we will be able to successfully host future classes in the same manner.
We were blessed to have Past President Benita Arijani of Rotary Club Kunthi (Semarang City), Past President and special assistance from the District Governor PP Ninditarini Yutata , and Rotarian Wien K Adriaan . These Rotarians have been very active with Rotary International programs for so many years.
