THE ORPHANAGE IS FULL OF JOY
Dec 20th, 2007 by CaptainB
I am in New York at the moment and I have been tempted by the good news from the orphanage which is on the other side of the world from NY( the orphanage in West Timor, Indonesia). So much joy were reported by my Peggy , my daughters Christine and Tassya and my son Christian. Even our helper Marsalina is there to join the happy moment. So much was said about the ripen mangoes on its trees , the bread fruit , and all the plants both at the orphanage ground and at the farm are doing great . Here I am in New York , where the temperature is cold and windy atmosphere but I can feel the warmth and the joy which was transmitted through the phone conversation from my family at the orphanage. I wish that I can get all the pictures that they have taken them for the last few days.
At the moment I am imagining the green looking plants and the ripen mangoes on its trees . I am also imagining the rice field which we were stared to plant them at the farm some 3 weeks ago. It must have been great to be there and seeing all the progresses and the development of every thing that we are doing there. I am imagining the moment that we will be having in 3 months time , that is the harvest of our own rice , corn and veggies ( water spinach) . I hope that I can get picture soon so that I can up load them for us to see them.
Here are some matters that I can think of :
will you be happy if what you wanted to have such a goal in 10 years time being given to you now ?
What will be your feeling of happiness like and how will you express it ?
what is your burden’s status for achieving an accelerated goals ?
what is your next move and what are the new plans for a better goals ?
One thing for sure that what has been happening to our orphanage now . Our land ( at the farm side not at the orphanage side) which was planned to be capable to generate some thing in 10 years time ,which will enable us to be self sufficient has been made into a reality . Before , we were wondering if it will eventually an achievable goal or not . The land was an unproductive land for years and years . No water was ever available for the farming matter. Out of our calculation God has granted us an artesian water during our first attempt when we drill for the well . We were looking for a well but God has given us an artesian well instead . With only one artesian water source we are made to be capable to change an unproductive land into a productive rice field. The water is flowing non stop all day and all year, day and night. A 10 years goal has been achieved in 2 months time and eventually it will give us our first harvest in 3 months time. Praise The Lord.

To add up the orphanage’s joy , I am glad to share the news that since last Tuesday , we have bought a tractor for more efficient farming . With this one tractor we can do a clean up to the other farming area that we have . A faster progress will be able to be done thus more production can be achieved. We were planning to buy this tractor in July 2008 but with the help of our friends , we were able to buy it already. The more production means the more capability for us to help out others , not just enough for the orphanage but we will be able to extend our help to many more. The only thing that we should do now is to make sure that the crops will be save until the harvest time . The planting is the very beginning stage and the looking after part is not that easy. We must make sure that there wont be any illnesses of the plants , not to much birds to eat our rice and hoping that there won’t be any locus or caterpillars eating the leave. The only thing which having the biggest possibility of a good harvest is the water spinach , usually less prone to any problems like other plants. For this tractor purchase we would like to thank you to sis Christina K and hubby David , sis Nina and hubby Willem and friends which refused to be mentioned. Our thanks to you All.
Another joy that we have is the water truck was said to be 100 ready by this Saturday. At the moment the registration papers are in progress. We can send them up to Surabaya but it will be stopped at Surabaya as we do not have a slot just yet on a ferry which will bring it across to Kupang. We can only send the water truck on January 7th . The owner of the ferry told us that the 7th of January will be the earliest date that they can send the water truck to the orphanage. Praise The Lord for making the water truck to be completed and ready for us . Again this water truck was our plan which will be done in 3 years time but God has allowed us to have it in less than 2 months time . To God be the Glory.
Here I a in New York , in cold and alone in my hotel room , but I can feel the warmth of the joy which the orphanage is having . For this year and more to come , there will be so much reason to be thankful and joy to celebrate.
Come and join us some time , we are sure that we can give you some thing to see and enjoy things in the different way and to share our joy with you .
Have a blessed day to All.
