Roslin Orphanage Blog

On July 8th Peggy was supposed to return to Singapore and to be with us for a while but before she left the house ( to the airport for the 12 20 pm departure from Jakarta to Singapore) she got a call from one the orphanage’s care taker ( pak Lief Rehyaar)  saying that there has been a mother came and left a baby ( her baby) at the orphanage. The baby was only 2 days old and the ” pale” mother has left the baby without us knowing where she went. So much that Peggy wanted to go back to Singapore and to be with us but she must head back to the orphanage instead. She went back to the orphanage on the same afternoon ( 16:00 pm departure from Jakarta to Timor via Surabaya. The plane was delayed for 2 hours and she reached the destination at 23:00 PM). Later she named the baby as Alexandro and the family name is planned to be Bupe ( Budi Peggy ). Sounds like Timorese name but there is no such family name in the real area (we do not know who and where his parents are ). He is so tiny , barely 2 kg . Thank you for sis Lay Kean ( mrs Chris Sng) , some Singaporean mothers and other friends for giving us lots of baby milk bottles and baby blankets some weeks ago which I already brought them to Jakarta on the 20th of July . They are just coming handy when we need them without knowing when the items are going to be used. In our orphanage at the moment we are only having 4 infants using the milk bottles but out side the orphanage we are also assisting some families with the milk bottles that we have. Our daughter Tassya was flying to Jakarta on the 25th of July and she will be helping her mother at the orphanage for 5 weeks during her school breaks . She is planning to leave Jakarta on the 29th for Timor ( she said that she needs to do few days of shopping first ha ha ha ). I will be going to Timor my self from August 21st to 31st . Any one who would like to come is welcome.
