Irene is sharing her time with the little ones

If every one is sharing their expertise, things will be easier for every one. Sharing is good especially if the older orphans sharing their time and knowledge to the little one our tasks on leading the group will be reduced . It has been our constant reminder to the older orphans that we shall practice sharing in every thing that we have among the orphanage’s members. It is quite common for us to see the older orphans sharing their time with the little one. It was so funny when we see the first time that some of the little orphans were trying to pronounce some letter wrongly. They just listen to what the older one studying and trying to memorize what they have heard. Upon saying what they have heard they were pointing to some letter on the wall wrongly. After seeing that condition we are were asking the older orphans to share their knowledge to the little one. We told them that if we are sharing our knowledge is will make them more knowledgeable and more confidence as we are repeating the subjects . Regardless of the subject ( math, science or even singing) we will be better if we are continuously practicing and doing it. Next time if I am with them I will share some of my knowledge about singing and hoping that one day we will be having a choir team which consist of the little orphans. It will be fun to have a team of little singers ha ha ha . One day soon it will happen.

For us we have been trying our best with water sharing . So many people are living with so little clean water thus minimum sanitation. Sometimes we are bringing a truck of water for a particular places which clean water is a very expensive and hard to get. For these places we will be so joyful when we are arriving with a truck of water . It will be a celebration for at least 10 to 12 families. we will be receiving huge awards from them in the form of genuine smile and thankful attitude. Nowadays we are getting some fried peanut and some hot drink( hot tea or just plain hot water) from them in return for the clean water that we give them. Each truck load is 5000 liter of water.

Yesterday , we have shared again our rice harvest with some of the villagers who live near our second farm. We were sharing the harvest of rice as we are having more than what we need. It will be no good if we are keeping the rice for so long and have the privilege to do so. I will up date the photos if they become available to me. Beside sharing the rice ( harvest) we did also share the work upon planting the rice at our other farm. It is great that we can share the work too because many other farm are not having water to do so. It is good that they are enjoying the harvest as well as the work , it is not just like giving them the fish to eat but they are also participating the tasks. As we read this , we are already doing another preparation at the first farm for another rice planting. It is great to be having a water source where we can plant all year long and at any time , Praise The Lord. Without the water availability we can do nothing to the farm. We will try to share with the villager about trying to make such a water source to their land. With the help of FCAP of Singapore ( Fellowship of Christian Airline Personnel of Singapore which consist of our bro and sis from Singapore Airline’s group ) we have bought a manual drilling equipment . With the spirit of love and sharing FCAP of Singapore has raised the funding to buy this drilling machine. Thank you to sis Ann Lee and bro Alan Chan ( who have been there in person) for leading the efforts to do it. With this equipment we will be trying to look for more water source for the village people. This manual drilling machine will enable us to drill for water until about 30 meters deep at a reasonable soil type. Some area are just impossible to be drilled manually but there are some soil too that we can do so. Remember that Timor Island was a rising sea bed , so the soil is mostly coral type. Basically the second best gift beside education is water to the people in Timor ( West or East).

Again as the tittle of this entry , sharing is good and it will help to people that you are sharing it with . In this case the effect is not only for an individual but to so many families and so many family members. Thank you for sharing with us . The two simple things ( but very valuable) that we share for all these year are mostly education related matters and water matters. From these two matters , we can generate so many smiles , so many full stomachs and so many happiness. Praise The Lord.
