It was not and it is not an easy tasks that we are dealing with ( to raise the orphans) but it is not an impossible thing to do. It was small when they were coming but they are growing and growing. The only thing that is not change is the goal that we are always aiming to , that is to bring them up from the poverty cycles through a good care , a good health and a good education. The impossible thing was made becoming possible by the water source that is watering our farm. The impossible thing for the current schooling children ( the orphans) was made to be possible by sending them to schools ( not if they are still with their own family where the living matters are always a survival matters). By schooling we can see that our goals is getting closer and closer by days . Soon one by one will be graduating from schools while some more are starting to enroll. We are glad that at least we are able to gradually break the poverty cycle in this area through our efforts on providing the children the chance to attend schools. The impossible thing will be happening if I am doing it alone but as proven by years of friends being our help consistently , we are made to be capable to manage the orphanage thus far and to continuously sending the children to school, Praise The Lord
a month ago when Martina joining the orphanage at 18 hours old
Baby Matina now is 1 month old
Baby Martina will be able to progress well also. When she was pick up she was only 2, 100 kg and she was even hospitalized for 3 days of drips in the hospital. Now Martina is 4, 350 kg an just 1 month old. Thanks to the availability of good baby’s milk products which are getting better and better. The most enjoyable that we are witnessing for Martina has been the time when we gave her a bath. She is always wanting to stay longer in the water and always crying when we lift her from the water. May be she will be some one big in water sport(s) one day who knows. For these kind of children ( orphans at an orphanage) we can train their survival ability in the positive way like to train them to be able to do things by them self as early as possible. For example we are making them to be able to drink milk on their own when they are 5 months old. It is a hard thing but it is not an impossible thing as we have been doing it since the beginning of this orphanage. almost 100% of the babies were/are able to do it . We are also encourage them to be able to eat on their own as early as possible. One way to do it has been putting them on a line up position during their meals period, so that they can learn from each other. It sounds like impossible but it does work so far with our orphanage’s children.
Cornelis has been eating on his own since 18 months old
Looking back in 2002 when we were having Edu, Pretty , Michael and others, they were babies too but now they are able to walk to school on foot for some 2 km distance. It is surely a big progress for them and to all of us . Some of them who came as a primary school students are now at their high school level. Gerson who came to us as a primary school age is now just waiting for his high school final exam’s result.
You can see why Peggy and I are so happy as the progresses of the orphanage is really doing quite well. Yes we are so tired some time but we are happy also when we are looking at those progressing children. Again the best gift for them is our attention , education and our togetherness upon doing things together as much as possible.
