PRAISE THE LORD FOR THE SAFE TRIP

merapi trip 08

At Klakah Dhuwur village, posing together with the children and our bro Yoseph Wijaya

This  3rd  trip to Jogjakarta for the Merapi volcano victims was started with a good flight from LA to Singapore . It was on the 23rd morning at 06 00 am when I arrived from LA . Few hours later Peggy and I were departed to Jakarta then to Jogjakarta  as planned. This time we are still unable to go to Jogjakarta directly as the flights to Jogjakarta were canceled. Praise The Lord we were able to get seats to Solo which is some 60 km away from Jogjakarta. My brother Santoso and his son Franky pick us up at Solo and indeed we are glad that we do not have to use a taxi as we are having so much luggage  of more than 100 kg extra with us ( for the relief efforts).

On this trip to Jogjakarta we are so blessed for having brother Yoseph Wijaya , an outstanding person in his work for humanity and the genuine character which I can learn a lot from . Praise The Lord for having him as part of the team . Thank you bro Yoseph for assisting us fully with your time , energy and gifts for the people in need.  We were not  having any idea that things will be made so easy by his involvements. From his contacts we were enabled to reach the places and the people who are really needed to be helped.  We went to a place which is only 4,5 km from the volcano peak , it is called as Klakah Dhuwur and Klakah Ngisor.  We did not bring much food items but what we brought for them are items which really needed. Praise The Lord for the chance which is being given to us to come to those villages.  I hope that those two villages are ok because last night there has been a heavy rain over that area which flood of cold Lahar is prone to happen. last night at Jogjakarta city , one of the river ( Code (  old spelling is Tjode) river) was full with debris and big volume of  flood  of cold lahar ( lava) . Some people living near Code river must be evacuated.

Klakah village is having an elevation of 2500 Meter and most of the people are farmer of strawberry , tomatoes, potatoes, celery, spring onion ( onion) , cauliflower, lettuce and some other veggies. Right now all of their crops are totally destroyed, living has been based on survival matter and worst of all it is a cold place . With the cold , not having enough food and clothes is not a nice thing to be in it.  Praise The Lord we were bringing lots of blankets for them , some towels, underwear ,lots of  soap and detergent, woman's clothing , woman sanitation peds, diapers , sardines, corned beef, milk powder, sweet soy souce, cooking oil , 1000 bottles of cough syrup, 1200 bottles of eye drops  and many more useful items.  Based on our past experience we are making the gifts into a package. We cannot give in the form of big package and letting them to share equally , because it will create such a condition where greed and selfishness to come out . To the extreme we might even create a fatality because people are quarreling and might kill each other just because of some small gifts.

There is a plan for us to help them again after they are able to tilt their soil .  We are planning to give seeds and other means for them to be able to restart planting their crops again. At the moment they are needing help for the next one month or 5 weeks till they are able to have a harvest on their own.

Another plan by a friend to set up a temporary school in tents until they are able to rebuild their schools again . Please help us to think and pray for the conditions to be resuming to the previous condition or better like before the mountain erupted.

Our thanks to you All who have been participating with this efforts .  Your contribution and prayers has been our strength . We have not been sleeping properly from the time we came to Jogjakarta till when we left Jogjakarta.

Thank you to the Vanderpol family , bro Captain Chris Bek and Medic LLP , bro Jeffy tan, bro Stephen Tay, bro Dilip, sis Susan Lim, iu Mary Agustina, bro Jorge Felicio , bro Leo Kalangi, Ta Cheh Suellen Fung, ms Jo Pang Tsing Yang, Mr Anthonius K Bansena, Mr Jason Wong, my bro Justin Wee, bro Peter Twang and few more Angels that I cannot mentioned their names.

Our special thanks to Toko Abadi  and Toko Ladosa ( both are at Mangga Dua Shopping complex) for giving us a special discount for the towels and for the woman clothes.  These shops were giving us some 60 % discount special for the relief efforts.

We are so happy that we are able to deliver the gifts to the ultimate receiver timely.

Join me on my next trip to the same place or another place which needing the help .

We have already stock up some 1000 more of sarongs which yet to be distributed on our next visit to this volcano eruption victims. It is unfortunate that we have to cut short the trip by one day , it is because of Peggy's uncle was passed away . She is now attending the funeral (Nov 30th).

Have a blessed day to All, Always
