So much has been happening yet so much for still to happen in the future. There has been ups and downs , happy and sad, funny and sometime boring if we allow our self too idle with our thoughts. I wish that I can be at the orphanage now and to help Peggy who is doing everything by her self for a long time. We are so happy that at the moment we are having Tommy Arnold with us at the orphanage . He has been staying with us for almost one month now. We are so privilege too for having Ms Pierette Roy who is coming all the way from Alberta, Canada. With them at the orphanage Peggy is able to do more for other tasks and planning for the projects that we are doing and projets that we will be doing. We have been planning to open our banana farm this March but untill now we have not get enough man power to do so. Usually the villagers will be done with their own farming by the end of February but this time may be they are a little late. Still we are determined to start our banana farm this month! We must concentrate on the land clearing first.
On this picture Peggy just leaving the thick bush behind her which is our future banana farm
With manual means we will need some 3 to 4 months to do just the land clearing but if we can get the tractor it will be some 6 weeks only. We have more than half of the funding already so it will be a continuation process and progress from now onwards until the farm is operated fully. Today I have the very good information about the type of banana that we will be planting from an ecpert. The brighter tunnel is in front of us.
On March 17th to 21st we will be having brother Mark Lee ’s family again with his cell group friends with us . There will be some 19 person all together and we will be doing alot . There will be some building activities, farming and sharing about our views in life. Indeed life is beautiful and so good if we can do things together and for a good purposes. Last year bro mark Lee ,his wife sis Serene and their son Jabez were with us and we were having a great time.
Some of the activities can be some educational things with the children and at the same time we can do some wound dressings or other health services for the children.
typical wound dressing day for Peggy at the orphanage and villages
fun time at the beach

So much fun to be together at the orphanage and else where as long as we are doing things together . My days has never been quiet and by my self , there are always things to do and utilizing our time to enjoy each other and the nature. It will be a disadvantage to be alone if we can make a good quality times with friends, new friends and the orphanage children especially.

There are so much time to be enjoyed and shared. Life is good and we shall be in it
It has been proven that if more love being involved there will be more joy , more blessings and more activities can be made upon making the love to be known and felt by the intended people or person. So much love have been shown and delivered to Roslin Orphanage. Praise The Lord.
By next month we will be hearing such fantastic love act for the children from Oriflame ( a Swedish cosmetic company) in the form of the kindergarten building. The idea was initiated by Yayasan Tunas Cendekia which headed by Yudhistira Juwono to Oriflame and from Oriflame to Roslin Orphanage. Praise The Lord that we will have a kindergarten soon.
As the previous entry , our combine efforts by Rotary Clubs we will be able to conduct the Train the trainer program. We are hoping to be able to host as much as possible of candidate to be trained with us for the purpose of improving education in this geographical location.
Another act of love was shown by a new friend who is coming from Alberta ( Canada ) this week. Ms Pierette Roy came without thinking too much to Roslin Orphanage . What she is having in her mind is trying to help us with the day to day activities at the orphanage. It was a 23 hours of trip from Alberta to Jakarta and still another 1500 miles away to the orphanage.
Ms Pierette Roy and our growing Joel
An act of love was also shown by my friend Surath M G Somasundaram, a pilot for Singapore Airlines. He made a fund raising based on his love towards the children and especially efforts on improving education for the youth. We are all agree that the youth will be our leader in the near future. Nurturing the youth means making up a good way for the youth to be a good leader in thge future. We surely want more people like Surath. Thank you also to Rotary Eclub3310 for supporting Surath for this mighty effort. Surath is the person who was leading The biggest youth Tennis tournament in Singapore ( Racket Sports Asia) which was participated by so many ranked players from overseas. With more love for the children we might be able to break more of poverty Chains in the world. Thank you to Surath and his team for the efforts.
Another act of love for the children has been made by Mr Steven Tan. He has been sending Biskuat , some kind of biscuit directly from his factory in Jakarta for the last 2 months. Now we don’t have to by snacks as we are having it from Indonesia Kraft which are sent by Mr Steven Tan. Thank you Mr Tan. With the children able to stay healthy , their studies will be enhanced as they are stronger and having a good immunity to illnesses. Praise The Lord.
Its biscuit time for the little ones
Love can be practiced by simple things and there is no need to be so costly. It was one afternoon we felt so hot and we were longing for some good drink to ease the heat. We saw and bought 30 coconuts and brought them home. It was a great afternoon indeed that we were having during my very recent visit. We ask the children to come together to arrange the chair under the trees and sing while waiting for our special drink being made for them. It was coconut water with its flesh and sirop. It was so great to see the older ones peeling, cutting and preparing the drink for every one while the children were singing hymns. It was so great to listen to them singing so naturally and without any musical instruments. I will try to up load the clips of them singing after I am able to down loaded them.It was as it has been said , the joy and feeling being blessed as we try to do things together and care for them.
I just received a great news from Rotary HQ which is from Illinois, Chicago. The proposal that we have made since July 2009 seems to be having the fruit soon. It is the proposal which derived from our trial on early 2009 that we made at the orphanage’s location about the ” train the trainers” program. The good thing is this proposal is a team work by 5 Rotary Clubs , namely Rotary Club of Kunti from Semarang , Indonesia, Rotary Club of Belait ( Brunei) , Rotary Club Armadale ( Perth Australia ) , Rotary Club Victoria ( Singapore ) and my own club which is Rotary Eclub3310 of Singapore. Five of us team up for a literacy program which will be conducted at Roslin Orphanage. Kupang , Indonesia.
Some lecturer will be flown from Australia and other places to conduct the programs.
Indeed as our motto ” Togetherness is our strength” is a real thing which we should be doing more for the similar humanity programs ( literacy, clean water projects, health project and other educational projects).
This program will be given to those who are already able to know English and after they go through the course , the participant must train others about English. This efforts will not only enhancing the knowledge but also promoting kindness and spirit of sharing with others. Inline with the new Rotary Internatio0nal motto ( ” BUILDING COMMUNITIES AND BRIDGING CONTINENTS) . This is one of the efforts that Rotary International has been doing it for years.

It was so great for the orphanage children to have been visited, playing and learning from Margaret . She is from Perth , Australia and this is her 3rd trip to Roslin Orphanage in less than one year. Thank you very much indeed. Margaret is also involve so much with activities under the umbrella of Rotary International. Both herself and her husband are Rotary Club members of Rotary Club Armadale. I am so privilege to be connected to her not only because of the Roslin Orphanage but also in my Rotary Club activity. She was at the orphanage even though we are not there with her. She is an educator and spending her time with the children has been very motivating. The children always so happy to have her around as they are learning a lot from her.
The children were so happy as they are getting a quality time which being made by Margaret . Indeed you time is priceless and happiness can be made from it. Thank yoMargaret.
We have been planning to start our banana farm some months a go. We have decided to do it from end of February or March. Based on our experience when we are opening the rice field , it will take some 3 months plus ( the existing bushes are full of thorny trees and the thorns can be as long as 7 cm). Some costs adjustments must be made as the prices of the materials are increased in the 4 months span.
Who wants to participate ?
If any one wants to participate it means a good and protective shoes must be prepared beside some good working gloves.
If we are looking at the current bush which is our future banana farm, most of us will say impossible but if we are given some 4 months after the land clearing is being started it will be a different answer to it. It will a 25 000 M2 of farm where by inside the farm we will be having some 50 – 100 cows. Some goats, free range chicken and other potential animals in it.
In two years time we are seeing that we will be able to have harvest all year round and we can create jobs for at least 10 people. For this our status to be a self sufficient can be closer and closer.
Please pray along with us so that we will be strong upon facing the challenges. If it was said impossible ,the answer is ” it is possible”
If it is said to be too hard to do it,we can say it can be done if we put our efforts to it.
Nothing is impossible to The Lord and to the people who believe in
One word which will be use more often daily for me us is thank you and thank you words for The Lord’s provision in the form of the job that has been given back to me timely and for more friends which are now helping us to run the orphanage in the form of more prayers , financial assistance and physical help too. Thank you to The Lord for using CNN and Channel news Asia as His instrument to spread His love through His work that has been done through Roslin orphanage’s activities . It is His Work all along and His work alone , Praise The Lord to be part of His instruments.
Blessings after blessings has been pouring since we are running the orphanage. No shortages at all as God Himself providing all whats needed. The children are healthy and able to study well , no food shortages as God has given us a productive farm. A new farm will be commenced in March and we are aiming towards self sufficiency to be reached sooner. So far what ever we grow has been blessed and fruitful. More sharing can be done with others as we are so blessed with an abundant harvest.
The children are healthy and well , Praise The Lord. It is hard if the children are sick especially during the rainy season. At the moment Peggy must stay back in Jakarta as our house is flooded from the roof ( the gutter is clogging and an immediate repair must be conducted). We feel bad as at the moment we are having two visitors from Singapore at the orphanage ( Chris and Rachel) . I hope that they can fill up their time properly. Without us being around sometime the activity is not happening except the routine day to day matter. With us around the children will get some extra educative activities.
One good news that Joel ( Christian Joel Pascalis) is growing well and all the vaccination went well. We are seeing a healthy baby Joel growing properly. It is such a joy to see them growing well.
Christian Joel Pascalis
This January 13th Singapore’s Channel News Asia was broadcasting Roslin Orphanage. From this broadcast we have more new friends who contacting us for visiting and offering help too. Praise The Lord. When I get the copy of the broadcast I will put them on the blog asap.
