OUR RECENT ACIVITIES
Mar 11th, 2009 by CaptainB
Glad to be able to do this update as I have been very busy with so many things in life , ranging from the orphanage matters , the job matters and so many activities for Rotary Club’s matter and few other fellowship matters with my fellow company as well as my other friends. Life is good and always getting better from day to day. 2009 is a very exciting year and to most of us is a year where the economical down turn is really effecting our day to day matter. If we are dwelling things in the negative way it will degrade our life even worst. May be it is far better if we are using our time for more productive matters such as helping others to deal with their hardship. It can be done in so many ways . Some of my great friends are giving away free lessons on Math or other school subjects to those children whom their parents can not afford the tuition fees , some are helping at an old folks home and some are doing more physical exercises. It is up to us of how we want to spend our time into and it will be better if we are doing things that are positives. We hope that this economical tsunami will be recovered soon. I am so glad that some of our great friends from Singapore Airlines under the 5Cs were with us at the orphanage in January. I must thanked to them for their willingness to help us in so many ways . They could have been going some where else for leisure but they have chosen to spent their time with us for the orphanage’s activities and visiting some villages. Well to our 5Cs friends , thank you again for all your help and kindness.
Our activities at the orphanage has been one after another but Praise The Lord that things are getting better and better. If we are forced to use the new dorm as the unplanned storage for the rice , it is for us to build a new storage . The abundant blessing of rice must be stored properly and for that reason we must build a new storage room. It is not a good timing to build this new storage( it is the rainy season since November) but so far we have been lucky that the progress has been closer and closer to its finishing stage. It was once the building process was stopped due to the financial matter upon purchasing the materials and paying the labor but Praise The Lord we are able to continue building it now. Even though it is rather slow but we are always trying to make some progress each day.

Some part of the funding to build this new storage rooms is from the money that was raised by the “Kong Guan” bowling league friends in Singapore during our dinner that was lead by bro Michael Quek and sis Karen Kang. To our bowling league friends , thank you . The available funds plus the gift of some fund ( from the bowling league) were supposed to build a new dorm for the girls but we are allocated the money to build this new storage rooms first instead ( plus two wash rooms) . The reason is being more urgent and the urgency of utilizing the new dorm as a dorm and not as an emergency storage room instead. So many things have been the same since we were starting to build and to manage this orphanage . The children needs can be varied and in some cases we have to allocate the funding for some other things like as if some of the children getting sick and other things. We are blessed that we were able to build the new dorm for the children as they are growing constantly . Indeed God has been so generous and providing us when there is a need or an urgency at our orphanage, The amazing thing is the timing is just so appropriate when we need it , without any delay God always giving His grace and help on time. Indeed His timing has been the best and appropriate. The storage room progress is now standing up except that we do not have the roof just yet. Hopefully soon.
Another good news is our corn. If you are at the orphanage some 2 weeks ago , you can help us to harvest some of the corn. Over there we are having a type of corn which we call it as ” jagung pulut” or sticky corn ( jagung is corn while pulut is sort of sticky ) . it is almost all white in its colour and sticky as the sticky rice. We do not have so much of it but may be around 1000 trees only . The rest are the normal corn ( hard and supposed to be eaten as the main stapple).

The children are growing and we are hoping that we can continue to support them all the way for their schooling. With this economical down turn I am worried too as a normal human being. Indeed God is in control and He will make sure that we will be able to get around our ways for this economical tsunami . Please pray for me so that my job will be safe and so many children can be saved. Any way it has been so good to see those “days old” baby are now reaching their schooling age and progressing well. Even though not all of them but the majority are progressing well. Some happy moments for us to see the clever ones are helping the less clever child . We are seeing their togetherness also growing well.

Martina is among us again at the orphanage and healthy

Doreen Paulyn: ” I will be going to school too one day soon”

Thank you Lord for your blessings

self service even though some are less than 2 years old

a good lunch indeed

it can be rice or corn based they will never complain and finished them all

Alexandro is progressing well and we are hoping the he will be cured 100% soon . If he is cured , we will bring him back to the orphanage and to be together with the other children. At the moment he is still at our Jakarta’s home and with him is Cornelis who was volunteering him self to be accompany for Alexandro.

Alexandro : ” I am almost cured “
When the children are still babies , it is easy to arrange their clothes in one or two cupboards but not any more . MOre clothes and more space is required . It is not that easy to separate them and to stored them properly . If one day you are there , you can help us doing it and you will see with what we mean ha ha ha . The washing part can be some thing else . but Praise The Lord that we are having enough clothes and even able to give to others . Some people are not having any clothes other than what they are already wearing it. It is a blessing indeed.

it can be one full day for just arranging their clothes
