A new day means a new blessing , a new sun rise, a new sun rise and a new praise to The Lord. July 14th, It was a super day for us to see those ” days old babies” to be enrolled to their first day at school( primary school). Blessings has been given to us so that we can look after those infants from some 6 years ago. If last year we enrolled them into a kindergarten, now they are entering the primary school. If in the past they can only be fed , now they can do things for them self and going to their formal school education. we enrolled them into a Catholic school , a private school. It is known to be a better school rather than the other schools near by our orphanage. What we are hoping now is their ability to adopt their new school and able to learn the curriculum accordingly.

Elis Edu dan Ako when they were small

Lala when she was a baby

we were babies before so we can fit in together

Markus a boy who was abandoned when he was 1 day old

As you can see that they have grown , from infancy into their schooling age and so far so good that our care is according to our plans. Indeed a big change as we all can see now that they can prepare them self upon going to school without getting any help from the older orphans. It is the best for them to be self sufficient and independent since they are young. We wish that we will be able to stay healthy and capable to look after them better and seeing them reaching their adulthood too. May The Lord grant our wish.

prepare things by them self for their first day at school

No more kindergarten for us as we are baby no more

going to school by our pick up for the 9 orphans

” Kindergarten no more for us”, these were the actual words that Edu, Markus, Ako ,Lala , Chris and Elis were saying as they woke up in the morning of July 14th 2008. They were so excited to go to their new school. They have prepared things ( school bag, school book, shoes and clothes/uniform) before they went to bed and tried to sleep early so that they will not be late going for their first day at school. The school is giving them a new look as they were wearing their new uniform.

Not only for those 6 children but also a special day for Lody, Michael, Prity and July. For these 4 children we moved them from the government school into this private catholic school. The reason is for a better education quality and to prevent them being walking in the mud during the rainy season. With all of them attending at the same primary school , we can take them to school with our pick up and to pick them us after school at the same time. Lody is joining primary 6, Pritty, Micahel into primary 2 while July into primary 3.

A good news was given to us by God. One day before I left Singapore for New York , my former senior pilot called me . We were having a casual chat and at the end he was asking me about the orphanage’s progress. I told him that one of the orphan has graduated his high school and we intend to send him into medical school ( according to his will too). Gerson has been a good boy and obedient to us and also his grade is also acceptable for it. My senior pilot told me that If Gerson is accepted at a medical school , he is willing to finance his fee ( it will not be cheap but he is willing to do it). Praise The Lord. Now it is time to pray for it and it is time for Gerson to prepare him self for the tests. We have bought him many books about biology, physic, math etc. We are really hoping that he can get in. With God’s favor we can get it.

A very good news that I received this evening. Peggy just called me some 1 hour ago and telling me about our efforts upon finding for more water sources. We weren’t so lucky for the last 3 days upon doing it but today we are so lucky with our third drilling effort.

We were having another success this evening at the farm, Peggy and our orphanage members were able to drill for water and found a good water source . It was about 250 meters from the first water source and as clean as the first one. Praise The Lord. We will up date you with the picture when we are coming back from the trip.

With this water being found again for sure we will be able to do better farming. It was a pity that we did not get it when we tried to drill for water at other people’s location , even though we did our best and doing it twice ( with manual drilling equipment and drilling 50 and 52 meters were not an easy job to do. It took them almost 2 days to do it).

For this up coming trip, we are so happy as we will be bringing some 50 plus boxes of vitamins which was given by madam Adelina and her family. The vitamins are in the form of chewable tablets for children of 2 and 3 years old and another similar tablets which also good for the older children. They are mostly containing nutrient which are found in nature( organic) , in breast milk and in cauliflower. The vitamins will be bale to support a healthy brain function. Thanks to sis Lay Kean and bro Chris Sng for delivering to our place.

Nick and Nadine Sng posing with the vitamins

Another gift that we are really in the need was just delivered by madam Janine Boon and her husband Alex some 30 minutes ago. They are baby cote and baby clothings. Our thanks to All of you for making our tasks easier and easier.

a New baby cote and baby clothing

Also a very special tools to be introduced to the children are series of very educational tapes and videos from bro DS . I am so happy for bringing these tapes and playing them to the children. It will accomplish a lot of mind opening and introduction about what is happening out side their villages. With these tapes/ videos we can teach them by only explaining things to them instead of trying to draw or create such a program for them. Thanks to you bro DS.

very special gift for the children and ME ha ha ha

Today Peggy and our orphanage personnel went to the village near our farm ( paddy field), to help the neighboring farmer by searching another artesian water like what we are having. Since yesterday the team has been trying to find a suitable place to drill for it. The manual drilling machine was purchased with the help of FCAP of Singapore( Fellowship of Christian Airline personnel which consist of Singapore Airline’s and Silk Air’s employees). The team had drilled at two location so far and up to the depth of 50 meter and still not finding a water source. We were thinking that it will be similar like when we drilled for our own farm. We strike water only at 29 meters in depth. At this neighbor farmer’s location , not only the soil is much harder but also deeper but still no water being found . Both were 50 meters and 52 meters deep and still no water , even the soil wasn’t wet enough as if some water is near by. The second drilling was stopped because the head of the drilling machine was broken. We will try to drill for water at other farmer’s location after we can get the replacement of the drilling machine’s head and hoping that we can be successful on finding another artesian water for others.

Today also our other farm was having another activity of harvesting some of the left over rice/paddy which we haven’t cut them yet. Not as much as before but at least we managed to get about 700 kg of rice. Praise The Lord.

There are good days and some time we are not successful even so life is so beautiful , always !!!

I will up date with the appropriate pictures after I got them.
