BLESSINGS NEVER STOPS
the approval letter from The Rotary Foundation
Through the orphanage we are doing our best to help out the needy directly by taking care of their needs. Beside looking after the orphanage I am doing my best with the spare time that God has given us each day. Please share one other joy that we are celebrating. Our proposal about providing water for another orphanage in Kupang city has been approved by The Rotary Foundation. It was departed from a request by my friend from Rotary Club Of Kupang , club President Mathilda Salu. She told me about a clean water shortage for an orphanage at Sikumana village. This orphanage has been facing the same problem that we are having since we are building our orphanage in Timor. By knowing the problem is so real ( as what we are facing before) I wrote a proposal to The Rotary Foundation in Chicago. I was helped by my senior Rotarian friend ( Dr Ho Loon Shin) in my district ( Rotary Club District 3310 which consist of Singapore , Brunei and Malaysia). The proposal was approved on May 6 2008. Our request of about 13 000 USD will be sent to Rotary Club of Kupang soon. During my next trip to Kupang ( Timor) from June 21st to 29th , I will be visiting this Sikumana orphanage and we will try to choose the best location for the water drilling. It will not only helping this orphanage but the intended well we will be able to provide clean and essential water need for a nearby primary school and also some village people of about 300. This proposal is based on a program in Rotary International called as Matching Grant program. A program where we have to participate upon providing the funding about 70% of the amount and then we send to proposal to The Rotary Foundation. If the proposal is approved , The Rotary Foundation will give us the rest of the funding which will make the amount to 100% of the required amount. It is not that easy as it look to get the approval as there are so many requirements that we have to satisfy to The Rotary International mandatory requirements. If you want to know more about Rotary Club you may visit its web site www.rotary.org. Through Rotary we are currently trying our best to help out for the Cyclone victims in Myanmar and the earth quake disaster in China by providing them Shelter box and others.
I hope that one day , we can make a significant program through Rotary International such as 3H program( health, hunger and humanity). It will be a very meaningful project to do it but the tasks will be huge.
What I am seeing for all of this , we can be a blessing for others if we are willing to do it.
