| Dear Wong,
The West Timor trip is my first overseas charity trip. Although the journey was long yet it was bitter sweet. Along the way I get to know one by one with interesting characters and personalities and I was amazed that pp in 5C were superb! Beyond my imagination. All of them are so sincere, caring and compassionate. I must admit the travelling did took the toll in particular the mountain ride. But to witness the children sang on top the hill did warm my Heart! It was amazing and I was dumbfounded! Despite the obstacles.....it made me realised there are many things out there in life. Instead of giving Joy to them but in return I received more. It opened up my perspectives; horizon and....The children made me understand that simplicity is indeed a window of Joy. Now I cherish and Enjoy the Moment in Life! Thanks to each of members in the trip to make this trip MEMOrable! I wish you Gong XI Fa Cai! Once again thank you. Regards Michelle Tan |
| Dear Captain Budi
Indeed we had so much laughter & Joy with these lovely children. Although I have problem communicating with some of the children but from their facial & body expression, I am able to connect them. 5C will be continuing visiting these lovely children house in Roslin Home every year. I need your help as to advise me, when will be the best time to visit Roslin Home next year 2012. When is the best time to come for Harvesting, or perhaps help to plant more fruits trees or vegetables... Looking forward to hear from you soon. Regards Katherine Chua |
| Dear Altruistic Friends
Thank you for your generous time and effort making the visit to Roslin Orphanage. The children were so lovable and well behaved throughout our interaction with them. They were obedient and orderly at meal times and at assigned duties. While we were together on the beach and at the playground, they have demonstrated that very natural child tendencies and creativity. This credit should go to Peggy & Budi who nurture and mould them to such fine characters. Their future is pretty clear and bright in Roslin. All you compassionate volunteers have shown that there was nothing between you and the children. You treated them like your very own. You played with them, did cleaning with them, dined with them and babysat them. One group of you rolled up your sleeves to clear farm land for use. Despite being pricked by thorns, you weathered on with smiles. Another group painted the building. The third group washed the laundry area with the children. Mud, soil, dirt and paint did not deter you one bit at completing what you set out to do. Your actions illustrated your love for the children. I have some takeaway too; I have learnt of Peggy’s effective ways of nurturing the children i.e. with love, care and play. This satiates the children’s hunger for love. Peggy & Budi shower them with complete love thus making their lives wholesome. “Many children in the world are hungrier for love than for bread”. (Mother Teresa) “The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread." (Mother Teresa) "It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving." (Mother Teresa) On behalf of the 5Cs, I want to thank Kelvin for co hosting us and to all of you, for spending your time on this benevolent cause. Last but not least, I want to thank Jasline, Benjamin, Jolene, Amelia and Katherine for putting up the logistics for a successful trip. I also want to take this opportunity to Wish All of You A Happy & Prosperous Lunar Rabbit New Year Filled with Love, Joy & Good Health Wong kock yin VOYAGE = Volunteering Offers You A Great Experience. |

| Dear Jasline & Ben,
Thanks a billion for leading us on this enriching and fulfilling trip to West Timor. The display of true volunteerism is evident in all that was present. As we get back into our humdrum of daily routines, we will be rest assured that our presence had made a difference to all who gave, shared and receive .New friendship was forged and old ones renewed. It was certainly a memorable and inspiring trip for me. I am looking forward to the next trip with all of you. Let’s keep the spirit of volunteerism soaring and continue to spread the love, empathy and compassion to all. Till we meet again. God Bless! Yours sincerely, Vincent Boey |
| Dear all,
Our trip to West Timor finally came to an end & we are happy to say it was a success despite some hiccups here & there. Our deepest gratitude to all you passionate volunteers who are there to make a difference in the children's life, inspiring them & spread our love to each & individual one.. The teamwork is strong & everyone is willing to do the extra bit for another. Both Benjamin & I are certain that our presence is definitely appreciated by everyone at Roslin Orphanage including Peggy, O-pa & O-ma. The memories from this trip would be cherished & remembered as we come back to our daily life in Singapore. We want to take this opportunity to express my sincere THANK YOU to all of you for making this difference! Let's all keep our spirit for volunteerism up & lets inspire the rest to join us on our future trips so that they can experience what each & everyone of you has gone through... Til the next time. Sincerely, Jasline & on the behalf of Benjamin |
| Dear all,
I totally concur with Budi in his email below - to add a few quick words, from the depths of my heart, it's truly been my personal and tremendous privilege joining the team for this trip and knowing you all. I have learnt so much from each of you - your kind heart and enthusiasm to make a difference has surely touched and impacted the lives of the children at the Roslin Orphanage. To put things metaphorically, each moment you've spent, each act of love and kindness you've lavished, everything you've done for the children are like "buckets of water" adding to the "river of love" which allows these precious children (coming from very harsh backgrounds in their earlier years) to grow up in an environment feeling secure, loved and appreciated. Please do keep in touch - and I look forward to seeing you all again! Here's wishing you an abundance of Joy and Blessings, Kelvin (Kong) |
| Dear Friends, Sorry for not saying farewell today after the photo session at Changi Airport because I have to rush home as my mother-in-law was admitted in hospital. Good news is she is able to respond but not able to speak. I am tired physically but mentally, my feelings and experience on this trip is fabulous. The team spirit and cohesiveness is very encouraging and stimulating, so much so that I am very motivated and energised. Cheers, “P.S. Douglas, this is my short expression of the trip." |
| Dear all,
On behalf of my wife Sue, I like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the care and concern given to her when she was stricken with "Gastro-enteritis" in Kupang,West Timor. I also hope that everyone have recovered and rested well. P.S Douglas, this is what I have observed of the volunteers doing the 5C's i.e. care, concern, camaraderie, co-operations and contributions (including monetary). Warmest Regards Matthew and Sue |
