A SAD UP DATE
Peggy just called me , a sad up date was given to me. The new boy who just join the orphanage at 2 days old with heavy diarrhea just passed away this morning after some 3 days at the hospital. He was 5 days old . The boy can not take milk both from the bottle or spoon. Drips has been given for 3 days at Kupang General Hospital but after 3 days he is gone. It is sad but we should be glad for the baby is reuniting with his creator . At least we have been given the chance to know him and even giving him names , he was Frensean Roger Bupe. Praise The Lord .

I just read your email for Eko in GMDj. I am a little bit shock to know that the baby passed away. I am feel sorry ... hiks hiks ..
Dear Madam Kusuma, Thank you for your comment. In this part of the world sadly it is quite common about infant death . This is because the parents didn't have enough nutritious food during the pregnancy . Unfortunately this place is having the highest child mortality in Indonesia due to the nature of the place ( the rain is only about 3 months per year). During the dry season the airborne bacteria and so much lacking in sanitation are the main cause of illnesses. The weaker one (the infant) is prone to be not strong enough to go through.

I've chanced upon your website while trying to search for charitable organisation in neighbouring countries of Singapore.
Sadly, the first thing I came across in your website was about the baby who has passed away. Being a mother of 3 small boys (youngest at 9 months), it was heart wrenching to read about it. My heart goes out to you and your family...
I'm not a particularly religious person but I thank God for people like you and your family who has done and still doing good to help those children in your care.
