SHARING IS GOOD

December is the begining of the rainy season ,

it is the time for us to tilt the paddy fields again  even when the rain was pouring heavily

It is not that easy to tilt the soil right while the grass is already growing

It was not an easy feeling and full of uncertainties in 2007 when I was thinking of being a retired person with responsibilities of looking after the orphanage children. At that time I was quite nervous if that day is happening and the facts that my wife and I are having an orphanage that must go on especially for the children education. It was on Oct 2007 when we were so blessed with an artisan water coming out and flowing freely without a generator and a water pump. From not knowing what to do with our land to becoming self sufficient on rice, we were so blessed when we were able to declare our self as a self sufficient orphanage in terms of providing our food source. Based on what we are blessed with. we are sharing with the farmers in the form of positive partnership by helping them to do the land clearing  , assigning a rototiller to the group to tilt their soil and managing their farm land better.

We have created a group of farmers which are willing to work hard on their own newly opened farm land . The group is consist of 6 to 10 people and each of the farmer is owning an average of one hectare of land. We are hoping with first group we can do things according to our plans and each of the group members will be able to have a good harvest and able to have a good income to send their children to school without our help. It will be our ultimate goal to see them prospering.

We are in the process of forming two more groups soon of which will be involving some additional 20 hectares of paddy fields. If within this rainy season we can help some 30 hectares of land being managed properly , we might be able to see 20 - 30 children to attend their schooling and being financed by their own harvest ( income). We hope we can share a good story in the next 4 months time ( after their harvest).  If these farmers are able to send their own children to school , we will have less work to do and we can help out the other children at different areas.  This is part of giving them the fishing rods rather than the fish .

This is the first group of farmers that we have given them a brand new rototiller

Off loading a new rototiller in the pouring rain

Hey! Captain Budi and Ibu Peggy , I Just came back from our trip at your orphanage today with the trybe member's.. I've really spent lots of time communicating with your kids over there. I really liked them a lot. They have the potential to learn many things.
I really missed those moments during this 1 week trip on the 1st of December till the 7th of December. Anyway, god will always bless all of you for what you've done to the orphanage. I really enjoy this trip a lot and i think i will be coming next year or 2013. I hope that the kids will also remember me.. Once i have taken my national exams in Singapore, i would definitely come to visit the orphanage. Thank you so much.. Take good care of yourself! Tell the kids to take good care of themselves too! :)

Dear Jonathan and All

We are so privilege to have you with us at the orphanage
Thank you for spending your precious time with us

You are welcome to come again
Have a blessed day to you

Budi Peggy and the children
