The name Roslin was being formed by combining two Timorese grandma's names who were giving good advices to Peggy when she was a little girl.
Both of them were advising Peggy what’s good to be done and how to be a better person in life.
Good values were passed to her and we think that it is a good way to remember them both by combining their names in the orphanage's name.
From Grandma Rosalind and grandma Violin the name Roslin was formed.
The orphanage can be reached by
- Merpati using Boeing 737 -300/400, from Jakarta ETD 05:30 AM from Jakarta with transit at Bali.
- Batavia Airlines B 737-300/400, from Jakarta ETD 06 00 AM direct (the only direct flight).
- Garuda Citylink from Surabaya (not from Jakarta) to Kupang ETD 06 00

It depends on where you are coming from, if you are from Singapore may be the best is flying to Surabaya then using either available domestic airlines to Kupang. If you are from Australia , you may come via Bali first then to Kupang using Merpati or Sriwijaya airlines or may be from Darwin to Kupang ( not a daily service and small air craft).
From Kupang to other islands there is TransNusa airlines which will take you to the nearby islands by using ATR42 , a turboprop aircraft.
The orphanage is about 10 minutes away from the airport of Kupang.
If the timing is coincident with my annual leave, we can help you with a school project or such with mainly helping the students to know about a village living condition, to teach or interact with local schools (from primary school to college level) and to help you with some trip to the ecological sites (such as a water fall, a spring water and mountain areas).
You may refer to the report which was written by the Singaporean students which went there for their university’s project in March 2006. This can be found on the orphanage web blog
