MAY AND JUNE ARE BLESSED MONTHS

It has been a long time for us not being able to up date the blog as we were really so busy with so many things beside running the orphanage. May is definitely a blessed month indeed. There was a cyclone passing through some 200-250 KM south of Kupang and during that time Kupang area was having such a heavy rain for 3,5 days. So many paddy fields in the same area were under water and as a result so many paddy fields are failed to have a harvest but Praise The Lord that our paddy fields are spared from the disaster . We are so happy that we are able to have a fantastic paddy ( rice) harvest as usual and in fact better than before. Indeed we are so blessed.

We are also so blessed with our 2nd daughter, Tassya coming to the orphanage during her 4 months summer break. She has been able to dumped all of her stresses and taking a break from her hard work from her studies in Vancouver. As usual she is always coming to Kupang during her school break without fail year after year. It is always a joyful moment for both Tassya and the children at the orphanage for having each other since they are at a much younger age. Praise The Lord she was arriving safely.

OUR MULTIPURPOSE HALL IS ALMOST DONE

The space that we have been longing for will be completed in 3 months or less. The main structures are completed and we are in the process of doing it as soon as possible. Once this multipurpose hall is done we can do so many thing in the better way. At least things can be conducted at a proper space and the children can develope their skills without so much of restriction. For example we can train the children dancing, playing the guitar and singing fully and no more limited space for us to conduct the training.

The building is fully designed and calculated by Peggy.

The building will be so meaningful place to do things and also a meaningful tool to bond the children together as one family. Because the children were involved in the physical activities ( like making the 2nd story platform ect) , their sense of belonging to the place is automatically in them. The place is being built for them and by them.

We are also blessed in May by some great friends visiting us from Australia for their participation and sweats on the physical works upon building our multipurpose halls and many more day to day activities at the orphanage. To Narelle Whitworth , Christine , Lynn, Khaled, Jo and Margaret Imbroll our thanks for the visit and for all the sweats ha ha ha . Indeed we are so blessed by all of you.

Behind the first and second floor of the multipurpose hall are the girl's dorm , which consist of 2 stories also. We are hoping the all of the new units can be completed in less than 3 months time.  

After these buildings are completed we will start with the kindergarten building of which we are already making the site markings and measurements. With The Lord's blessing we can do it all. If you are happened to be with us , be ready to sweat together. It will be a healthy sweat for sure .

3 OF OUR GIRLS HAVE FINISHED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL LAST MONTH

Another blessing to our orphanage has been given to us last month . 3 of our girls , Yana, Ance and Vonny are done with their high school. All of them will be continuing their study at the local nursing school for 3 years. We did not ask them to do so but it is their desire to be a nurse. This might be God's direction for them as the term will be 3 years and coincidently almost the same time for Gerson to finish his medical school if things are progressing at the current phase. In 4 years time we are seeing to have our own " in house doctor and our own in house nurses ". A day that will make us more and more to be self sufficient.

Praise The Lord that their school funding has been prepared by The Lord through a kind soul who has given us the donation for their schooling recently ( even before their high school graduation) . We are so blessed indeed.

ONCED WERE BABIES AND NOW THEY ARE PART OF THE TEAM

We are still remember when we started the orphanage in the year 2000. That time we were having 4 babies at a rented house before having our own building. We have been so blessed that they are growing normally and until now none of the children are having serious illnesses and none also not wearing any reading glasses. Progress after progress , day after day the children are growing and now they can be our partners on looking after the orphanage. Indeed it has been a joyful day to see them able to help us on doing the gardening, washing their own clothes and cooking hot water etc. In one more month we shall be able to start planting some 1000 banana trees in which after 16-18 moths later we will be able to have banana harvest every day for the whole year.  Praise The Lord we are closer and closer towards our goal(s) which is to be self sufficient stage.
