A KINDERGARTEN FOR THE ORPHANAGE CHILDREN AND THE VILLAGE CHILDREN AS WELL

About two years ago ,it was so sad to found out that the already ran down kindergarten near our orphanage was closed . It was the kindergarten that some of our orphanage's children were attending it.  I was so sad when I was trying to see the old kindergarten . It was not only closed but the whole structure ( of which already not so good ) was gone . The whole building materials , the roof and every thing were gone , it was just a flat ground and without anything at all above it. . It is sad to know that there is no plan to replace it with a new one.

At least it has been two years or may be more that there isn't any kindergarten within 5 km from the orphanage. So much more difficult for the little ones to join the primary ( elementary) school without having an experience of a kindergarten. Based on these facts , Peggy and I decided to start building it asap while trying to save some more for its funding. We are so blessed that we have been preparing for it for quite sometime ago. It has been some 2 years ago that we were trying to save and accumulate the funding for these two buildings.  At the moment the building number one has come to a stage where we are installing the windows and doors wooden structures, while the building number two has just completed it's foundation stage.  We want to do it fast to avoid the rain ruining the main structures. We want to come to the stage where the roof is already installed and from there we can do it at the slower phase.

The building number one will be having 10 rooms plus two rooms for the admin and storage roooms while the other buidling will be having 6 rooms even though the dimention is the same with the other building.  We are doing it from 08:00 am to 01:00 am with the break time in between. So much work is actually being done during the evening hours as during the day time the heat is making it hard to work.  We are hoping the two building will be ready in 4 months time or less.

We will be using some 4 rooms as the kindergarten and the rest will be used to do some vocational training for the children and the village children.  These building is also designated as our initial primary ( elementary) school in one year time. We are now already looking for some potential kindergarten teachers and some friends ( partners) who are able to give us a free medical services, English lessons and other skills to the society.

The Ground breaking , it is so stoney and it is so hard but this will make the building stands strongly as the foundation is the solid coral.

We are hoping that we will be able to put the roof before the heavy rain distrubing the progress. During the wet season , the rain will be pouring heavily and sometimes for few hours and there was even a case of which the rain was falling for 3 days nonstop. Usually the peak of the rainy season will be from December to end of January ( it is the time where the ITCZ  is over the Timor Island area. ITCZ = Inter Tropical Convergence Zone or in the easier term  the depression line of a low system weather area).

It will be great if we can  have the buildings ready and able to let the schooling age children to attend a kindergarten again. We are already preparing the equipments such as the tables and chairs for the class rooms and so many other toys appropriatly for the children.  We will teach the children both indoor and outdoor . The our door classes is to keep them close to the nature and at the same time we want to pass some knowledge by means of hands on method . For example we will teach numbers by counting some leafs or fruits . At the same time we will let them know the name of different fruits, different shapes, trees etc. It will be fun BUT now it is time to build the building first.
